Habitat for Humanity was seeking to build new family homes in the Midtown neighborhood in the City of Gary after building eight single-family homes in the neighborhood in recent years. The Arsh Group worked with Habitat For Humanity to determine the depth and extent of the market demand for new housing units within the Midtown Study Area in Gary, which encompassed the Midtown Business District and the surrounding blocks. HUD guidelines require that “adequate” market should be available in neighborhood for any development assisted HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds. As part of this study, the Arsh Group examined the current market profile and neighborhood conditions in the study area. This research included an analysis of the housing market for the area, comparing it to the current demand in the City.
